You already have what makes this place worth choosing.
What you might be missing is somebody whose actual job it is to show it.
Big cities have communications departments. Everyone else gets the same list of jobs.
Towns, villages, counties and small cities are expected to do all of this, usually with nobody on staff whose job it actually is.
Putting someone on staff to do it costs more than any package here.
A communications coordinator is a salary, benefits, and a job posting you may not even fill. Most communities this size cannot justify the position, which is exactly why these packages exist.
Promote tourism
Show people what a weekend here actually looks like.
Attract residents
Answer the question a family is really asking before they move.
Attract business
A vacant storefront, the traffic past it, and the owner next door.
Support main street
A business that gets featured gets customers.
Keep the website current
Real photos of your actual place, instead of the stock image that came with the template and is still sitting there.
Back the funding applications
Reviewers read hundreds of claims. Show it instead.

A library, not a delivery.
Most media work arrives as a finished thing: one video, twenty photos, an invoice, goodbye. It gets used once and it is gone.
What I build instead is a library your community owns and can keep pulling from. Everything is filmed knowing it will be cut up, reused and shown again.
That is the difference between hiring media and having media. You should not have to phone anyone to put something on your own website.
What lands in your hands
Four ways in
Every package includes a community video, the main film about your community for your website front page and social pages, plus edited photography with full usage rights and a planning session where you set the goals. Annual packages are one agreement, invoiced per visit, nothing up front.
Booked separately: $19,900
Media Partnership
The complete library: every season, the people, the culture, the opportunities. Most communities find one year of this carries their website, tourism and recruitment for several years after.
Booked separately: $11,700
Content Library
More than one goal, covered across three seasons, at the best per-day rate on the page.
Booked separately: $7,200
Community Content
Your community at two different times of year, with business owners and volunteers on camera. About $477 a month.
Community Video
One video that says who you are and why anyone should care. A good first step if this is new for your team.
Counties, regions and municipal districts
Every package above is written around one community. If you cover several, the scope genuinely changes, so these are quoted individually rather than squeezed into a package.
Mileage billed from Killam at $0.65/km. GST not included. Annual packages are invoiced per visit.
It is not just a website video.
It is the piece that says who you are, why people stay, and why anyone else should look twice.
A paragraph on an About page tells someone you have a good community. Sixty seconds of the actual place, with the actual people in it, proves it. That is a different thing entirely, and it does not only live on the website.
The full Community Media Packages document.
Everything on this page in detail, plus what a goal video looks like for tourism, new residents, business attraction, lot sales and recruitment; how one day of shooting feeds six different things; the grant programs that fund this work; and the questions councils ask before they say yes.
20 photos and videos every community should already have on file.
The shots that end up in every grant application, every recruitment ad and every tourism post, plus six questions worth asking any time somebody is in front of a camera and four habits that fill the list without a budget. Ten pages. Most communities can tick four or five of the twenty.

Both documents are being sent now. If nothing arrives in a few minutes, look in your junk folder, or email me directly at josie@jcefilms.com and I will send them across myself.
Grants can cover most of this
None of this depends on a grant. But if you are applying anyway, the right program can cover most of the cost.
Travel Alberta Rural Development and Promotion Fund
$50,000 to $150,000 per project. Explicitly covers photography, video and content development.
Small Community Opportunity Program
$20,000 to $100,000 at up to 90 percent cost coverage for communities under 20,000.
Northern and Regional Economic Development Program
$10,000 to $300,000 at 50 percent cost share.
At 90 percent coverage, a successful application could bring a $9,500 Content Library year down to $950 out of the community's budget. I cannot apply for it, but you can, and I can provide the quotes and the content plan the application needs.
Program details and intake dates change. Check Travel Alberta's industry site and Alberta.ca for current information.
Content days on their own, or alongside a package. See how that works.
10% off everything.
And a fun fact: 2% of everything JCE Films earns goes back out to local charities.
Questions that come up before people say yes
Who owns the content?
Your community does. Full usage rights on everything, forever: website, social, ads, print, grant applications. No licensing fees later.
Can we afford this?
Annual packages are invoiced per visit, so the cost spreads across the budget year rather than landing all at once. Package 2 works out to about $477 a month. Provincial grants can also cover much of it, in some cases 90 percent.
We're a county, not a single town. How does that work?
Every package is written around one community. Counties, regions and anyone covering several communities get a custom quote instead, because the scope really does change: more time on the ground, more travel between places, a bigger photo set, and more people to coordinate. Tell me how many communities you want covered and I will build it up from whichever package fits.
What are we committing to?
An agreement is signed and your first date is booked. From there, you only ever pay for work that is already done: an invoice follows each visit, and payment is due before that visit's content is delivered.
How fast does content arrive?
Photos and social videos are delivered within four weeks of each visit. A video built across more than one visit, like the cross-season community video, arrives within four weeks of its final shoot date.
Who approves what goes public?
Your team does the publishing in every package, so nothing appears on your website or pages without you. If JCE posts for you, your team approves the content before it goes up.
Do we have enough going on to fill this?
More than you think, because the content is people doing what they love, not landmarks and events. In 12 years I have never worked in a community that ran out of people worth putting on camera.
We already have someone posting on Facebook.
Keep them. Their biggest problem is having nothing good to post. The library fixes that, and a content day can hand them eleven finished videos and a set of photos at once.
What does our team have to do?
One planning meeting to start, and introductions: you suggest the people to feature and connect me with them, because you know your community best. From there I can work with one contact person or the whole group.
What does travel cost?
Mileage is billed from Killam, Alberta at $0.65/km. Annual package rates hold for the length of the agreement. GST is not included. JCE Films carries liability insurance, and a certificate is available on request.
You have your people. That is the advantage nobody can copy.
I can present this to a council, a board or just you over coffee, and send examples from communities close to yours.
